Six tips for supporting immune system health

During these unprecedented times in our world, it's more important than ever to take care of yourself. At Mitchells Drugs we are here to take care of our community.  Not just with our local pharmacy, but also in healthy living.  So we would like to share some tips for keeping your immune system performing at its highest capacity.

1) Exercise, however you can.

Exercise has been shown to improve immune system functioning.

2) Eat your vegetables (and fruits and whole grains)

go easy on the highly processed foods.

3) Avoid smoking or vaping

This causes chronic inflammation in your airways and compromises your immune system’s ability to fight viruses. (Visit for more information.)

4) Don’t drink.

And if you do drink, try to limit the amount. Excessive alcohol consumption can impair your body’s ability to fight infection.

5) Find ways to relax for 30 minutes every day

Meditating, taking a warm bath or enjoying a cup of herbal tea can actually do wonders for your health.

6) Get plenty of sleep.

For adults, that means seven hours at minimum, ideally eight.

We know you may have heard some or all of these before, but it bears repeating at this time in the world.  These small things along with healthy supplements can keep yur immunity strong to fight and illness that may come our way.
